The city of Tarragona is a living history of more than 2,000 years, embodied in monuments from Roman times and the Middle Ages, the modern period and Art Nouveau architecture. Tarraco is the name given by the Romans to the city they founded in the 3rd century BC, which would become the capital of a huge province of the Roman Empire.
